Louie PawWord Story
Hey Mom,
This morning at 4, I savored Fetch-N-Bites’ breakfast treat, toured a peaceful Pawsburgh, frolicked in the dewy Husky Hill, bought a soccer ball from Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Store, and partied on Beagle Beach. Treated myself to pupcups and doggie ice cream at Chow Hound Café, and had a wonderful morning with my friends. Truly another pawsome day in Pawsburgh.
Woofs and wags,
Little Guy 🐾
Well, here goes, a fresh day in Pawsburgh. I woke up with the smell of morning, or rather the smell of Fetch-N-Bites’ special doggie muffin in my furry white nostrils. A whiff of this and I – Louie was up and bounding in what mortal humans generally refer to as four-o’clock-in-the-morning. But then again, when has any dog, let alone a Jack Russell Terrier given two hoots about a human clock?
My friends, Mia, Johnny, and Lucy were still snug in their baskets, I decided to let them sleep while I took a quick tour of the town before the loathsome vacuum cleaner came to life.
Husky Hill was empty, but the fresh dew on the grass presented with an alluring temptation. So off I shot, dodging through the wet leaves with the grace of an Olympic athlete, in case the Olympics had a category for little dogs running aimlessly.
Next stop was Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Store. I made sure to nose my way through those squeaky toys but this day wasn’t about satisfying my consumerist needs. Today, I had a mission, a noble quest. I spotted my worthwhile prize amidst the numerous brightly colored soccer balls.
Victory attained, or rather purchased, I made my way to Beagle Beach. Now, I had learned this important fact over the years – the ocean and a cheeky little soccer ball, when mixed with a sunbath, equals absolute bliss. There I was, flouncing about on the beach, when I spied the captivating glint of ice cream at Chow Hound Café. Off I go trotting towards the promised temptation of pupcups and doggie ice cream, my soccer ball bouncing playfully at my side.
I must have lost track of time because the square began to hum with life. Dogs from every corner started to pour into the heart of the town. All around there was the clink of dog collars and excited barks and tails wagging beyond control.
The girls were up too by the time I returned. Dusted with sleep and stretching in the most unladylike manners. Johnny greeted me with enthusiasm only matched by someone who had witnessed the enactment of The Great Squirrel Treaty.
We spent the rest of the morning, reminiscing past adventures and chuckling at my early escapade, all the while enjoying our sweet treats. Oh, the joy of a life well-lived. As the sun gently started to go down, the spirit of Pawsburgh warmed our hearts. Another day of sincere doggy delightfulness was unfolding, and I, Louie, couldn’t have asked for anything more.
That is Pawsburgh for you, wonderful chaos. If you thought your dog sleeps all day while you are away, perhaps you should think twice. Pawsburgh is where we revel, where we live, just waiting for the humans to fall asleep or trot out of town. Bark to you later!
The End.
