Otis PawWord Story
“Hey Ma, Otis here. Trounced some troublemakers at the local park today. Yes, cats again, runnin’ wild. Nothing serious, just some fur ruffled. Spent the day munchin’ on my basketball, bustin’ bad guys, Spencerville style. All in a day’s work. Give my ragtag trio some extra bone treats, won’t ya? Luv, your Handsomest Handsome.”
“Otis here. Got some tabby and Sheltie in my crosshairs today, one of them Spencerville miscreants. No, I ain’t got nothin’ ‘gainst cats in particular, it’s just the mischievin’ all over. Bloody mess. And this Speckled Sheltie, rolls around with a toy-stuffed turtle. Sly, I tell you.
Favorite hangout’s the Fawn Pug Palace, down west. Flew under the radar after chowing down at Fetch-N-Bites. That’s where the action’s at. All hell breaks loose, them Newfoundland Mafiosos owning the Siberian Summit territory. Meanwhile, me, I’m peace-lovin’ Otis, gnawing on me basketball from the good ol’ days, trying to keep my head down.
That day, it got ugly. Scratchy tabby and Sheltie strutting around the Tail Wagger’s Tailor. Nearby, a couple of Huskies twiddling their tails suspiciously. Then, that infamous whistle echoed down the corners of Dogwood Drive. Them Huskies, they bolted. I recognized that whistle. Ain’t no regular Joe. Blood froze. It was the Smoky Siamese, boss of the Tan Dalmatian Desert.
I ain’t no savior or snitch, I kept my peace and dug into the worn-out seams of my beloved toy. But, I couldn’t ignore, the sight driving me mad. Them Underdogs ruining Spencerville.
I ain’t got no heroes in this city. Trust? Ha, what’s that now? Look, it ain’t personal, just doing my bit for this city, fetching a bit of justice now and then.
Never seen ’em before, but these cats, disgracing the name of Happy Hounds around the city. Things got sketchy real quick. Only a matter of time before they’d hit Waggle n’ Wok next.
Stopped them miscreants, right there. Me and my ragtag trio sent them packing. Otis city, Otis rules. Ain’t one for the heat, but Spencerville’s worth it. Till we meet again, amigos.”
In this city of ours, every dog has its day. But remember this, in Spencerville, it’s always Otis day. And yes, I’ll be waiting for my human to join the party one day. Life’s a gas, ain’t it?
The End.
