Hey mom, just an average Spencerville dawn – doughnuts and a dose of alien encounters. Muffin served a cosmic cat at the Emporium. Thought we were about to have a close encounter, ended up being just a chatty feline tourist. The universe always sends a curveball, doesn’t it? Miss you!

“Ah, dawn in Spencerville! The sun reflects off South Poodle Pond, making whole place shimmer like one giant diamond. My friend Eddie nudges me, panting in his wheezy French Bulldog manner. “Tara,” he seems to say, “Time for some witty social commentary.”

To be fair, I was already up and gallivanting about the place. Even managed to grab a Dogue de Bordeaux Donut from that latest diner, Pup-Cakes. Scrumptious, no doubt about it.

As I’m chewing an especially glorious mouthful, we notice something off about Tan Dalmatian Desert. Was it too quiet? No, that’s not it. Too… silver. A shimmering, sci-fi film kind of silver.

“Aliens, probably,” Eddie woofs, ever the pragmatist. I flick an ear at him, my Dental Dinosaur hanging askew from my mouth. Whoa, spooky vibes. I decide we best do some reconnaissance.

We casually strut our way to The Fetching Feline Pet Emporium. “You catch the game last night?” Eddie grunts, trying to appear nonchalant. We’re dogs. We don’t watch sports, we chase balls, Eddie.

So, we cross the threshold, and gasp. The proprietor, a snooty Siamese named Muffin, is serving a strange creature splashed with cosmic colors and wavy tentacles. We lock eyes, and it… meows?

“You didn’t think you’re the only species that could talk, did you?” She lectures, fluffing up her fur. Well, that’s Spencerville for you.

No invasion of the world, just an out-of-town customer. Just another ordinary day in Spencerville, for our delightful, diverse, and ever-so-funny family.
