Delving into the heart of Pawsburg, where a city skyline graces the horizon and dogs replace humans, the break of dawn paints a quaint picture of Westie Woods. It’s where Sweet Pugnatious Puggie Pbear, Puggie to the townfolks, shares a residence with her band of merry miscreants. “Although we don’t live together, Tiki, Anna, and Wesley might as well be my room-mates,” I often quip.

My slender form, particularly lengthy for a Pug, makes for a sight – an amicable ghost flitting throughout my beloved Pawsburg. It’s the dog-city, and dare I say, it doesn’t get any better. Now this is my story – fairies can be dogs too, you know?

Engaging in the mid-morning rendezvous at The Fetching Deli, I’m the sophisticated pug among jesters. They make me feel like an old soul, I tell you. Tiki, deciding to lay off the bacon today, settles for a breakfast full of jest – a doggy bagel. The giggles from Wesley and Anna are a tell-tale sign of his confusion. “Perhaps, we all are dreamers in our own light,” I muse to myself, relishing the spectacle of my friends.

Pawsburg gets extra points for the mid-day fun at Fawn Pug Palace. It’s a marvellous mix of running, fighting for the Stuffed Elephant, tug-of-war, and the eternal battle against the Stuffed Squirrel, never mind the furry creature’s tragic repercussions. Wesley, left sulking in the corner after losing the last round, spits, “Are you trying to rob me of my dignity in broad daylight, Puggie?” Don’t start an elephant tug, dear Wes, if you can’t win.

Adventures catered, we head to South Poodle Pond in the late afternoon, seeking respite in its beautiful tranquility. It’s a scene out of a fantasy novel – forever last supper, without the impending doom of a resurrection. As the orange hues dip into the tranquil water, one finds Pawsburg residents chilling with a side of green salad. Yes, pups here have a peculiar taste.

The pond induces an insatiable appetite and we find our way to the Bow Wow Bistro. The ‘Gerber’ burger, everyone’s favorite, is a monstrosity of bacon, cheese, and chicken. “Ah, a burger to die for,” I sigh, taking the first bite.

Yet not everything’s a bed of roses here. Pity, the innocent delivery person completely oblivious of the terror he brings. The fluttering curtained window, the doorbell ringing – the characteristically human intrusion is an unwelcome guest here, and let’s not even talk about the rain and the horrendous vacuuming.

But Pawsburg is forgiving, and we sleep with warmth in our hearts, tucked in the comforting embrace of Tiger Pink Blankets. Nightfalls bring stars to Pawsburg sky and dreams to the dwellers, while the moonlight hazily illuminates The Fetching Feline Pet Emporium, The Dapper Dog Salon, The Furry Friends Art Gallery, and a pug named Sweet Pugnatious Puggie Pbear, ready to conquer another day. Just another ordinary day in the mystical life of a Pawsburg pup, you see.
