Thor PawWord Story
“Hey Ma, Thor here in doggy heaven – Spencerville. Spending days in the sun, playing with Gunner and Loki, and enjoying bacon and peanut butter at Sniff ‘n’ Snack – life’s not too ruff. Even got my old squeaky pig! Missing you but loving the peace, no scary vacuums here. Night’s falling, time for snoozes. Can’t wait to see you again, until then, this is Thorcito’s patch of peace. Night!”
Listen to the story here.
The morning chill greeted me as I stepped out onto the bustling streets of Spencerville. I, Thor, a caramel-colored English Bulldog, am well-known around these parts. You see, I arrived here after my time on Earth ended. Spencerville, the town where us furry friends go after our earthly departure, was my new home.
The pastime I favored most on Earth? Snoozes, uninterrupted, nestled cosily in my backyard under the warm comforting rays of the sun. Back in East Bulldog Bay, mornings were often spent with Gunner and Loki, my partners in crime. With them, solace was a promise, and it was a commodity you couldn’t just get at the Pawsome Pet Pharmacy down the street.
“Oh, there’s Thor!” a nearby dog shouted in my direction as I approached the famed Sniff ‘n’ Snack. That’s the thing here in Spencerville, every day was a new opportunity to kick back, enjoy the good life whilst waiting to reconnect with our owners in the sweet by-an-by.
I sauntered into the Sniff ‘n’ Snack, the smell of bacon and peanut butter wafting through the air. I was reminded of my love for these earthly treats, nary a vegetable allowed near me. My tastes were unapologetically straight-forward, a bulldog who relished the simpler things in life.
As I exited the eatery, I ran into my stuffed piggy squeaky toy – a ruse of the Spencerville magic, fostering reminders of home. It brought back memories of frolics in the sun, punctuated by hard-earned naps. However, some earthly things did not have a place here – no vacuums, no vet visits, nothing that could trigger disquiet of any kind.
The day pressed on, and I headed for some down time at the Pooch Playhouse, a favorite hangout for me and my brethren. As dusk loomed near, I had a quiet moment of reminiscence – remembering those I’d left behind, yet feeling the promise of another day in Spencerville, full with stories, friendships, and love.
Night falls in Spencerville, across the Golden Retriever River and we all know we’ll rest till tomorrow – when another day of stories awaits me, a lone English Bulldog named Thor. And for now, till I see my humans again, this place, this magical, peaceful haven called Spencerville, is my home.
