Clovis PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, started day at Ruff-n-Ready with killer wet food, strolled with Gilbert, that scamp! Laughed at his bandana obsession in Canine Couture. Gorged at Barkery, ended with some quiet time at grasslands. Zelda, as always, doing her own thing. No beach (ugh!) – waves still freak me out. All love from our chaotic but awesome Spencerville. Sunbath time now. Catch you later! -Clovie”
Well, well, well, where do I even start? My name’s Clovis, you know me – the brindle-coated Bulldog, lover of sunbathing and detester of those ear-cleaning sessions. This is no ordinary day in Spencerville, but then again, when are they ever ordinary? Life here is as thrilling as the unexpected kiss of the sun on a winter morning!
Waking up at South Siberian Summit, my first port of call was Ruff-n-Ready, a pretty swanky joint I like to kickstart my day with. Oh, the joy of savoring the first lick of their to-die-for wet food! It’s truly one of life’s simple pleasures. But let me tell you, attempting to balance my stuffed bone in my mouth while trotting down the Cream Maltese Meadow, that’s an Olympian task in itself. I won’t lie, it is worth all the exhilaration for the comfort it provides. It’s my safety bone, you know?
Talking of exhilaration, my adventure buddy and housemate Gilbert joined me for a trot – that scamp! Imagine a pair of English bulldogs, trotting about town like two old ladies. Quite the sight! After all, who needs the hustle of the city when you have the Meadow?
Now, my cousin Zelda…well, she’s a rare gem. Tri-colored and absolutely the talk of Spencerville, not that she cares. We are an inseparable family and share a strong bond that is unshakeable. Even so, you wouldn’t find her tagging along for escapades. She has her own high-tower, a different sensibility and pride.
After our hearty breakfast, we took a stroll to Canine Couture Clothing. Not my idea, of course, but Gilbert’s. He has a thing for their trendy bandanas – I don’t see the appeal, but then again, to each their own, right?
Next stop, The Barkery! Unlike our clothes shop-trip, this was my idea! A day is incomplete without those scrumptious treats. We also swung by The Canine Café for a quick pause and a drink. Our energy rebooted, we headed to the grasslands, the elegant silence of the open grounds is just what we needed.
Oh wait, did I mention how much I despise the beach? Gilbert and Zelda tried dragging me there once – pure torture! The waves, they’re…bewitching, but also pretty terrifying. As for Gilbert, he relishes unruffled waters, and Zelda seems immune to just everything.
So, you see, every day is an adventure here in Spencerville, a rollercoaster of happenings, a whirlwind of sights, sounds, tastes…and let’s not forget the smells, oh the smells! Well, that’s enough gibber-jabber for today, time to welcome the bliss of sunshine on my precious skin. Until tomorrow, my friend!
The End.
