Jethro PawWord Story
“Hey Ma and Pa, today I went on an epic adventure to find my missing cheese – explored Bulldog Bay, climbed Siberian Summit, snacked at K9 Kebabs and even had a spa day at Dapper Dog! Guess where I found it in the end? Yup, right next to my Jolly ball under the sofa… typical J, eh?! Sign me up for detective school, I’ve had a ruff day! Chow for now – J-Dawg :P”
I am Jethro. I’m an English Bulldog with a coat of brindle and white, an aesthetic combination of nature’s design that makes me a showstopper in town. Sprawled across the green carpet of my backyard, it never takes me long before I have an audience. My right ear, a rich brownish hue, contrasting my left ear of crisp white, peppered with freckles. It’s quite the spectacle, I must say.
Once, a very important piece of cheese disappeared from my home. It was a tragedy. My most refined culinary delight, my elixir at the end of a satisfactory play session, vanished. I, Jethro, took it upon myself to solve the curious case of the missing cheese.
My investigation led me to the poshest places in Spencerville. I started with East Bulldog Bay, mingling with other Bulldogs. Some got distracted by my startlingly contrasting ears but oh well. After everyone and their mother had fawned over and sniffed my ears, we formed a think-tank. We huddled, stumped over the missing cheese.
Our discussions led us to the Silver Siberian Summit. My Siberian friends listened to my story with their clear blue eyes wide open, before leading me on an almost treacherous climb. Their idea was to search all places, high and low. But alas, the cheese remained elusive.
Next, I visited K9 Kebabs. Surely, they must know something about the missing cheese. The owners, always keen for some canine company, welcomed me with open arms. I tasted some delicious cheese kebabs, but they were not MY cheese. We sat, contemplated, and sniffed, but the cheese mystery prevailed.
Feeling a little grumpy, I took a detour to The Dapper Dog Salon. Nothing like a good grooming session to churn up some new ideas in the old noggin. After a relaxing spa session there, I visited Fetch! Toys and Treats. Standing amid the aisles of stuffies and balls, I received a striking revelation. I had left my cheese next to my Jolly ball!
Rushing home, I found my cheese, just where I’d left it, next to my favorite jolly ball under the sofa. The classic tale of the forgetful Bulldog who cried cheese, lesson learned and the fairy tale retold in true Spencerville style. With my story, the tale of the missing cheese was woven into the rich tapestry of Spencerville legends, reminding everyone that sometimes in life, the answer is right under your nose…or in this case, my jolly ball.
And now, if you’ll excuse me, I have cheese to indulge in, a jolly ball to fling about, and a backyard blanket of green to roll on. Ah, Jethro, the English Bulldog. It’s a great life. They love me here in Spencerville, though they could not possibly love me as much as I love them. And that’s just the tale of one day. Every day unfurls a new chapter. I’m excited for what tomorrow might bring.
The End.
