Cassie PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, faced down a colossal rabbit today at Pug Palace. It was earth-shaking – literally! Rounded up the gang and lured the furball away with veggies to the Tan Dalmatian Desert. All in a day’s work! Dug into some cookies after at the Canine Cafe. Love and tail wags from your Sassy Cassie 💕🐾”
There I was, minding my own business at The Bone Appetit, indulging in my favoured doggy cookie when suddenly I felt the floor quiver beneath my stubby paws. Trouble was surely afoot! It wasn’t the whole town—a relatively quiet day in Upper Black Bulldog Bay, by Spencerville’s standards. It just so happened that peace doesn’t quite last long around here.
“You feel that, Cassie?” Raisin looked up, ears erect, tail whipping across the sleek floor.
“I did, my young confidant,” I replied, the crumbs of a particularly delicious snickerpoodle speckled across my jutting chin known fondly as my ‘Willoughby’.
It soon turned out that a monstrous critter had been sighted over at Pug Palace, reeking all sorts of havoc. With a big gulp, I stood up – a valiant, albeit slightly cookie-smudged hero. Wasn’t this was what I was there for? A spokeswoman, for my fellow pet-kind, a fearless defender of Spencerville. Even if my only superpower was my infectious, dancing jubilance and a cookie crusher appetite.
Meeting the others at the chaotic site, Bitty the cat with her uncanny feline senses, Patch, the stealthiest of felines, and Raisin with his unmatched speed were waiting. The sight before us was laughably comical – a beastly rabbit, I kid you not. More than a touch agitated by being in a foreign land, it had been digging holes into Pug Palace’s splendid lawns, causing the earth shudders.
It took a fair bit of planning, ear-scratching contemplation and Patch enduring quite a number of unintentionally playful kicks from our restless invader. But in the end, it was the simple pleasures that saved the day. I remembered, when joyful, what set my tail aflutter would straighten it in elation. Just then, Raisin brought forward a voguish array of vegetables that I was surprised to say, I didn’t turn my snout away from. Instead, I wagged, my tail straightened and it was game on!
With a show of playful jesting and a trail of veggies, we led the giant rabbit away from Pug Palace, all the way across to the Tan Dalmatian Desert, where it happily continued with its digging adventures. We ended the night at the Canine Cafe, where I regaled stories of our adventures to wide-eyed pups.
Such is the life here in Spencerville, where every beast, furred, feathered or scaled has a home waiting, and is bound by love until we reunite with you. It isn’t only the idyllic landscapes or a never-ending supply of cookies, it’s more…So when you look up today, remember us, we’re fine, brave may I add, and waiting for when we meet you again.
The End.
