Minnie PawWord Story
“Hey Dad, had a usual day in Spencerville; dealt with secrets, ran after squirrels, braved the cold for a joyride, and charmed my furry pals. Dodged broccoli and the B-words (baths & vet)! Riding these gritty waves with my tail high. Lots of love, Min š¾”
After an arduous day routine, I trudged home, ready to be greeted by the vivacious, tail-wagging Minnie. The loyal pit-shep mix was the backbone of our Spencerville abode. As shadowy secrets cocooned the town, Minnie was our anchor – dispensing unconditional love and unmatched loyalty.
Now, Minnie, he’s a character. Could give the squirrels in Westie Woods a run for their money during the day and curl up in your arms, looking as innocent as butter wouldn’t melt at night. That canine radiates a joy that could brighten up even the darkest alleys in our noir life.
Spencervilleās machinations never got to Minnie. His life revolved around sunbathing at the dog park and currying favor for K9 Kebabs from me. His adventurous spirit remained undeterred with the chilling winds outside, eyes shimmering with anticipation every time he heard the keys jingle for another round on our beat-up four-wheeler. He was a silent protector. His canine bravery had a way of trickling down the spine, steeled our grit against the town’s shadows.
Of course, that dog had his quirks. Preferably the afternoon dine-out at exactly 3pm. Managed to con me into believing that he’d implode if he didn’t eat on the dot. He’d treat his mealtime as a sacred routine, turning a blind eye to even those fascinating squirrels that hopped around our backyard. Excepting the devil green tree veggie – broccoli. I suspect; he didnāt appreciate their little tree-like appearance. Nor did he share my affection for the enigmatic felines, a shame, that. And dare not mention ‘vet’ or ‘bath’ within his earshot, unless one delights in the sight of a large canine disappearing further than the sight could reach.
With him, even a walk to Happy Hounds Dog Walking became an anecdote. The shop owner was convinced Minnie was human in his past life. The way he’d manage to convince his little furry pals at the Doggie Daycare to obey him was a sight. Treats may have been involved, who’s to say?
Minnie, the dauntless and sassy, was our antidote to Spencerville’s unsettling aura. He may detest baths and bristle at vets, but he was the heartbeat to our home, the perfect partner in navigating life in this gritty world. His love was as true as Noir, a steady beacon of hope in our not-so-idyllic town. The loyalty he bore for us was unquestionable – our friend, our family, our Minnie.
The End.
