In the twinkling pre-dawn hours, I find my sturdy legs trotting down an oft-tread path, destination: Pawsburg. The clamor of the mundane recedes as the harmonious howls of my comrades echo, welcoming me into our sanctuary.

A new week begins, intense and challenging, embarking on another ‘Survivor’ adventure at the East Bulldog Bay. As we assemble at the Pug Palace, Baker narrates last week’s war stories, his voice resonant with laughter. Lil Rosie pranks unsuspecting victims, steering clear of me, the stoic English Bulldog, perhaps fearful of my volatile reactions to pranks. Ah, Lilly, ever compassionate, cues us up for the day’s pursuit.

The challenge, presented by the notorious Golden Retriever River, is a fetch contest with my beloved stealth tools: the red jolly ball and the blue frisbee. Whoever fetches the most preys wins not just the title but also a hearty meal from Sniff ‘n’ Snack, featuring my favorites: corned beef and steak. The stakes remain tantalizing enough to make me overlook my trepidations of water, and we plunge into the sparkling river.

As the riverbed grows familiar under my paws, a jolt of dread seizes me. A menagerie of sea creatures lurks beneath, with sights of shrimp darting around. The sight and smell was unbearable to me, but the sight of my competitors, my friends, having fun shook me back into reality. It was a game, and I was in it for the fun.

The twinkling sun highlights playtime’s frivolities, ending with a triumphant ‘woof’ as the red ball snuggly fits into my mouth. I emerge from my bubble of victory as roars of applause from my friends echoes around the Golden Retriever River. The sight of me, a timid bulldog that outperform his fellows, seems to tickle their funny bones.

Post our victorious pursuit, we drench our satisfaction in a feast, courtesy of Bark ‘n’ Roll. As we crunch into corned steak and revel in the taste of victory, tales of the day’s adventure fill the restaurant. The crown atop this magnificent day remains the delivery of the Golden Bone, the ultimate prize, handed to me by Rosie, a lopsided grin plastered on her face.

As the day draws closed, I bask under the setting sun’s glow, my rewards by my side. And, as I lay snug with Grogu, my friends, the distraught sun, and everyday nuisances like the vacuum and ear-cleaning seem miles away. The boon of this company makes my solitude-avoidant heart content, the bustle of Pawsburg drown out my fear of the vet, and the blandness of regular life blur away.

Another day in Pawsburg ends, marking the beginning of a new dawn. As I prepare to retreat to the mundane life, I savor my last moments in the dreamy town, looking forward to my next escapade in Pawsburg, the ‘Survivor’ paradise for us four-legged enthusiasts. A haven where we all break free from our traditional roles and breed stereotypes and truly live our best doggo lives. An adventure always waits, and for me, Albert, the unexpected ‘Survivor’ of the Golden Retriever River, I look forward to the morrow, ready for the next big adventure.
