Rolling in the sand at Brown Boxer Beach, grabbing a bite at Doggy Bagel Deli, catching up with Teddy at Doggie Daycare and finishing off with tacos at Pup ‘n’ Go. Definite no to raunchy rain and Husky Hill, but you know me, always ready for a new basketball from Fetch! Just another day in paradise.

Well, here we are again in lovely Spencerville, a place where everybody knows your name, or at least, your breed. It’s one of those days when the sun is shining; the kind that makes you want to chase your tail around and dig holes you don’t intend to fill. I’ll be your guide for today, my name is Kaiya and I am a one-of-a-kind Pit Lab Mix.

Let’s start our day with a trip to Brown Boxer Beach – one of my personal favorites. The cool sand beneath my paws, Ah! I tell you, it’s like rubbing your belly while having your ears scratched, pure bliss. Fair warning, though, don’t try to bring a basketball on the sand with me around, I’ll hear it bouncing before you even see it!

Although I love the beach, swimming isn’t my thing. I’m more of a sunbather, really. Imagine me, a black and white beauty, laying out in the sun, my butterfly-chested, one-ear-half-erect self soaking up the rays and turning heads. It’s the prime life out here at Spencerville.

Next we hustle, or rather, saunter down the road to The Doggy Bagel Deli. They make the best chicken and steak sandwiches. And the tender slices of juicy steak leave me drooling. I’m usually a well-composed, rule-abiding dog, but the sight of a steak sandwich does somewhat compromise my dignified demeanor.

Post-deli, it’s time to socialize. A promenade through Doggie Daycare always leaves me cheerful. Yes, hanging out with Bella the doppelgänger Rhodesian Ridgeback and my dear buddy, Teddy, that loveable giant Mastiff, it’s a good day. That is, until the chit-chatter of Chitown, my sibling, the applehead Chihuahua, comes echoing in. Sometimes, family can be hectic, you know!

By the way, never, ever, plan a trip to Western Husky Hill on a rainy day. Boy, do I hate rain. The pitter-patter on the roof, the wet fur smell, and the mopping? I depart from my ladylike calm entirely; it’s just too much.

Now, where were we? Ah, yes, Pup ‘n’ Go Taco Joint. They do whip up a mean taco, can’t lie. Remember my no-fruit rule? Well, it’s like they made the menu with me in mind. Steak tacos, chicken tacos! Heaven for my carnivorous cravings. And I bet you’re glad I mentioned it.

Last stop is Fetch! Toys and Treats, where we pick up a brand-new basketball. Of course, Bella and Teddy are rolling their eyes. I mean, what kind of dog chooses a basketball over a chew toy? But there’s something exhilarating about stealing that ball mid-dribble.

There you have it — a day in the life of yours truly, Kaiya. Some ups and downs, tasty meals, good company, fun and games… Pretty much Spencerville in a nutshell. It’s not perfect, but it’s good —it’s my home sweet home.
